I'd really appreciate if it the people whose understanding of the current situation in France is limited to a couple of posts they saw on Tumblr could refrain from making sweeping comments. I'm not saying that people shouldn't have an opinion on this, but please, before you reblog something you see on Tumblr, check your sources and try to inform yourself. This is valid for this specific situation and for pretty much every event that occurs at any time. This website is a great way to spread information, it's true, but it's also great at distorting the facts and at simplifying them to the extreme.

As most of you may know, a few days ago the island that I call my home got shaken pretty bad. And though I am thankful that my family and most of my friends are faring well, other Boholanos are not as fortunate. Numerous people in different parts of the island have no access to electricity and water. Let alone a scarcity of food and medical supplies. They have lost their homes and are in great need of your, our,  help.

Below is a more informative link to give you a better overview of what has been going on along with lists of various groups and relief operations one could lend a hand on. I believe help comes in all forms. Not just in canned goods and monitary aid. So if you happen to come across this post, the mere act of sharing and sending this on would already be of great help towards rebuilding our province.
