Wonderful news! My dear friend Fadel (@fadel-dani) was able to present his graduation project at his university and received his Bachelor's degree in Information Technology! Anyone who would like to congratulate and bless Fadel can do so by donating so that he can get medical treatment and study for his master's and doctorate in a safer place.

DarkSword is a new iOS exploit chain that leverages multiple zero-day vulnerabilities to fully compromise iOS devices.
it affects iOS versions 18.4 through 18.7, with some of the core exploits still not being patched until as late as iOS 26.3 (though to my understanding, the threat cannot be properly utilized without the iOS 18 exploits so any version of iOS 26 was likely safe)
If you’re like me and you’ve been keeping iOS 18 and not upgrading to iOS 26 because of all the reported bugs and negative user experience, the great news is that Apple is for once actually rolling out security patches for their older iOS version since so many people still use 18. If you go to software update in your settings, scroll down and you’ll see the iOS 18 patch available for download and install. You do NOT have to upgrade to 26 to protect yourself from this. But if you are already on 26, of course just keep it up to date since like I said some of those exploits were still available in early 26 versions
im told that if you are on an iOS version earlier than 18, you can choose to upgrade to 18 instead of 26 in order to still get these critical security patches. just scroll down in your software update settings and the option should be listed below the iOS 26 one
If you have your updates set to the iOS 18 beta channel to get Apple to stop pressuring you into upgrading to iOS 26 (which is what I do lol), you will not have seen the notifications about these security patches and you must temporarily turn beta updates off in order to download and install them
Take this one very seriously. The hack works completely in the background without you ever having to click on or interact with anything. Even just visiting a web page infected with the script would silently execute the attack, and even completely legitimate web pages with no reason to suspect anything and with no bad reputation. And once it’s finished harvesting your data, it actually removes itself from your device and any data logs linked to the fact that it was there to even further minimize the possibility of detection
