In Relation to Canon - Paldea
Just like I did for Lorenz, here is a list of canon characters Ignacio has a common history with. It is far from complete , and a lot is subject to change as the DLCs are revealed and released.
Like I said when I made similar posts for other muses, this of course only concerns myself and I will never force any of these pre-established relationships on others without asking.

Various Grandma Headcanons
Opal can play the violin and the piano.
She used to be very athletic and was even a badminton champ in high school. She still enjoys playing from time to time.
Despite her interest in fashion and her past as a model, Opal was never a coordinator. She entered a few beauty contests with a Gardevoir she owned in her thirties, but didn’t feel like it was for her.
Speaking of her past as a model. Pinups of herself in her 20s are very sought after by collectors.
While the game portrays her as being sensitive about her age I’m gonna ignore that because I’m tired of that trope.
While she always declined the title of Champion, there was a period of ten years (before the Rose Conglomerate revamped the League) where Opal was juggling her job at her Gym with a position in Galar’s now defunct Elite 4.
In her youth, Opal was far from being the kind open minded little grandma she is now. She was a Royalist, and had a much more elitist approach on her job. She has since then learned the errors of her way and gained the kindness and wisdom we now know her for.
She has quite a lot of friends she made during her various travels through Kalos. She is the godmother of Diantha.
Ballonlea is a small town, but it has a very good demographic growth and a lot of children. Opal likes to walk around with candy in her pocket and spoil the kids she passes by. Even the ones who call her a scary witch. Especially those actually.
Yes she has dentures.
Public/Private knowledge
Public:
He's officially recognized as a pro-level Pokémon trainer by the Indigo League and has a reliably made it to the Top 16 of most tournaments he's entered. He qualified for the Elite 4 challenge twice but never got past the third round.
He's an out and proud homosexual. He self-describes as a Floatzel.
Semi-public:
While not obvious at a glance, one of his eyes is actually a prosthetic in which is etched a Keystone. The iris appears to be his natural grey when it's not in use, but it begins visibly glowing in various colors when his Gengar mega-evolves. He has only used this in a public competition once.
He never finished high school as he was expelled due to the vicious harassment of a classmate.
His last name is the same as a semi-popular brand of liquor for some reason.
His father is the former Gym Leader of Cianwood City, who was Chuck's senior at their local dojo.
He worked in Uva Academy as a field research assistant for a time.
He's the target of some salacious rumors of alcoholism and promiscuity, among other things. Some even say he'll do most everything for the right price, including vandalism and intimidation.
Private:
Said rumors are all true. The only moral thresholds he will never pass are straight-up murder or directly harming a Pokémon.
He was saved from a storm by Lugia when he was sixteen.
His past affiliation with Team Aqua is a complete secret, and the average person should definitely not be able to recognize the emblem on his bandana at a glance unless they themselves are knowledgeable about the Hoennian underworld, or remember him from their time in Aqua or Magma.
Only two people in the entire world know the true reason for his departure from Team Aqua. He attempted to steal the Blue Orb and the submarine in a mad gambit to catch Kyogre for himself... which backfired quite horribly. This is something his former colleagues and bosses might suspect but never know for sure.
He lost his left eye during a scuffle against a high-ranking member of Team Rocket. His other eye is suffering from retinal degeneracy, which means his vision will only get worse as time goes on. He has been learning braille and is preparing for the day he'll be completely deprived of sight.
Last minute retcon because of. Well. Recency bias and stuff. And also "c'est mon blog j'fais c'que j'veux" as they say. I'm definitely part of the folks who think Kitakami is a smaller region on the Tohjo Continent (North of Kanto, like its real life counterpart) and I think it's not too much of a stretch to just say that the "Kanto relatives" Lo mentioned on his dad's side of the family are actually from there. Mostly though I want him to have an excuse to visit.
Lo’s Paldean Parenthesis.
So a while ago, I justified a five months hiatus by saying Lorenz was in Paldea the entire time, knowing I’d get to get back to this and actually develop what’s been going on over there. Also allowed me to pre-emptively give Lo a Pladean ‘Mon, even if I honestly did not know what was in that Poké Ball until a few days ago lol.
Anyway, now that I’m nearly done with Violet, I figured I would give a quick rundown of facts and opinions about my kid’s time here:
Lorenz was hired as something of a bodyguard for the Academy’s researchers, ensuring their safety when dealing with wild Pokémon, similarly to the work he’d done with Lyra in the Ruins of Alph. He’s had otherwise no real interest in the Academy itself, and especially not in the courses they teach to adults. He’s been expelled from High School ten years ago and he likes it this way, thank you.
By default, if in a thread, my partner and I haven’t discussed which school he works in, I’ll say it’s Uva. Doesn’t mean I won’t write with people whose mainverse is Scarlet.
Trying to pick fights with teens is a bad look. But he’ll usually have no qualms knocking some sense into Team Star brats if they’re being too loud in his presence. Though he would still hold a degree of compassion for them, as, in a way, they would kind of remind him of his old gang back in Olivine... (At the same time, though, he can’t deny the reason he was expelled from school was precisely because he was the exact kind of bully Team Star was founded to act against.)
He finds the idea of a Champion-rank completely stupid, as it cheapens the title in his eyes (well his single eye but you get it). He vaguely understands this is the equivalent of the Tohjo continent’s League Eligibility, but the term, he doesn’t like.
He most likely barely interacts with the school staff but he’d probably really like Dendra (Shares his passion for battling, funny, cool and approachable, also he’s grown up surrounded by Fighting-types too) and Saguaro (Shares his love for good food, cool and approachable, AND pecs for days).
I think Lo would actually get along swimmingly well with Katy. He used to want to be a baker, he likes Pokémon many consider unsettling... Really, I think they could be buddies. (I prefer to specify though: if you write Katy, she does not Have to automatically like him.) She may also be the reason he wanted to catch a Lokix.
He has been a huge fan of Ryme since he was a teen.
