if you mean jaemin and the reader, they did not part ways they’re still together but his words made her realize that she had gone through the entire thing while jaemin had been loyal enough and did not. guilt is a huge factor for her so to know this, it really did affect her after all because despite the fact that she wanted this she also didn’t want to do what jaemin wouldn’t do. I think this portion of the story: ‘the other guests laugh but jaemin doesn’t so neither should you.’ gives view to their dynamic, especially knowing she grew up conservatively. this is mid 20th century after all.
before hyuck and the reader go into the room, he warns the others that if they couldn’t go through the arrangement they would be put in the cuck tabernacle which is a room where they watch their partners have sex with their arranged partner from.
when jaemin tells her: “well I’m glad you enjoyed yourself love, it surely looked like it.” he’s confirming that he saw the entire thing through this room that she had completely forgotten about. so no they’re still very much together but the event has affected their relationship.
