Christmas was not something that Lobco had grown up with, it not being a holiday native to her home (though if her parent’s letter were anything to go by, the holiday was beginning to creep down there too). After beginning her life on the surface, however, she had become familiar with it. It was quaint. She liked any cause for celebration...despite them often making her feel lonelier than ever. That was especially true considering that the majority of her time spent on the surface was as a lone traveler before she met two specific people in her life--one such person being her witch.
It would be the first Christmas that she had celebrated with her new familiar family and she really wasn’t sure what to expect. Truth be told, up until now she had mostly just witnessed it on her travels and never really been a participant but she knew a lot of the traditions.
Such as baking. Baking lots and lots of goodies. Lobco was good at baking, which is exactly why she could be found in the kitchen now smelling of divinely sweet odors. Her stiff and bulky uniform had been replaced with a warm, dark green sweater and blank pants.
She was on her third batch of cookies when her witch came in, and Lobco offered her a small smile.
“Hello, Lady Chlomaki. How are you?” finished sliding the tray in, she then pulled off her oven gloves clapping her hands free of some sugar.
“It’s......”
The shrimp trailed off when she noticed that at the threshold where Chlomaki stood, was a particular plant.
Lobco had only recently come to learn why that plant was used to decorate places during this season....and that was one of the traditions that quite frankly she found to be rather absurd.
What did one do in this situation? Did both people need to be underneath it? Was it considered an insult if you didn’t go through with the whole kissing thing? Would Chlomaki want that? Did she want that?
...
Lobco was too confused and way too embarrassed to think on this more or act. She was...just going to pretend she didn’t see it.
“It’s good to see you.” She finally continued.

The God of Pitch World, who dwelt in a domain that contradicted such a name, was someone who had Elwine’s utmost fealty. It confused her why so many of her fellow angels seemed to exhibit reticence towards serving him--not the least of which was her own sister.
Stepping back she could understand, to a degree, that they feared the punishment that he so loved to dole out. In this regard she could not empathize, for that pain was one of the few things that brought her a sense of relief, that reminded her that she could feel that she was alive.
Ability to empathize or not, she could see that such things were not for others. What the angel had trouble swallowing was the weakness in their hearts. If it was suffering to them, they should swallow it with pride for the being who had created them and provided for them. If it was suffering to them, they should stand tall and understand that it was nothing compared to the suffering of an immortal being with the weight of an entire world on his shoulders.
That was why Elwine remained loyal, despite the call she often felt to venture to the surface world where she knew her sister roamed.
That loyalty was also the reason she accompanied him now. After fulfilling some duties for him in the office he attended to most of his work, she walked with him at night as he made his way back to his quarters. Elwine hadn’t the faintest idea if he slept or not. It often didn’t seem so.
At the moment they remained beneath the shine of a bridge light, having stopped in the center of one adjoining two clouds. It was dark around them, chilly and quiet, the only other sign of light the occasional angel passing on patrol. Her God had dropped for a smoke and she remained quietly by his side. It was a familiar scent, and one that no longer perturbed her despite her strong nose.
One ear flickered when she heard that sound of wings and she looked upward to see a patrol man flying high, directly above them. That was what caused her to notice that on the light, there hung some mistletoe. She stared at it, pensive before finally speaking up for the first time during their walk.
“Lord Fumus, if I may ask. How did the tradition involving that plant begin?” She pointed upwards towards the mistletoe.
