[journal] Covers and CVs

Here it is. Every graduate's nightmare: JOB-HUNTING.

Well, God has been good. I get a call from time to time. It's just that most of the calls I get are the ones I already expected.

It's just that I'm not used to not working my ass off lately. I feel the urge to start working on something already.

I know some of my batchmates have already found work. To tell you the truth, I'm pressured. 

Seriously. You hear from everybody that it will not be a problem for me to find a job. 

Magna Cum Laude. Birgitta Awardee. Student Council President. 

Some would even call me an OVERACHIEVER.

Well, tell you what? Now that I'm almost a month into the "Graduate and Still Looking" status, here are a thing or two that I've learned:

Perhaps the long list of extra-curricular activities you have done may not matter to many employers. Perhaps they are simply in need of individuals with passion and initiative. I don't know if this is true. It's quite too early to say...

Graduating with honors does not mean you secure a job. Or Master's. Or a Doctorate in something (this is according to some of my friends who have graduated two or more years ago...)

Patience is virtue. IN GOD'S PERFECT TIME. Perhaps I'm just too eager to get hired and start working. It's just that I'm not used to idle time. Well, I have household chores...and I am currently exploring for volunteer opportunities to make better use of my time. I'm not after the experience. It's just that I can use my time better doing better things that would help other people rather than sitting, wishing, and waiting for THE ONE.

Gotta keep praying. Keep believing. Keep looking. I will not let that passion die a natural death. Gotta keep learning. Keep praying. Keep believing.

Now I truly believe that ORA ET LABORA stays with you, no matter WHERE you are or WHAT you have become :)
