I was actually referring more to helping figure out Inhumans in general - maybe new ways to spot the signs of having the gene sooner than Jaiying ever could? Simmons studied Skye/Daisy a bit, so she could know more about Inhumans that way. I could have worded that better.
Okay, I love Jemma, but I have some theories on her too, and they aren’t very nice...
Jemma wasn’t exactly on the whole Let’s help the inhumans boat. She’s always been more on the “We need to study them.” approach when it comes to ‘different’ species. And her idea of real studying is cutting things open to understand how they work (re: Elliot Randolph (The Asgardian) in 1x08 The Well). Also the whole rant about inhumans being dangerous (because of running into Raina in the temple, tbh, snap judgement as the base of her entire outlook on inhumans), not knowing Skye was one, and then “We should study and find a way to cure Skye or suppress her powers.” as well as the “Indexing all of them for our protection”.
Because of those reasons, I don’t necessarily think Jemma would have the basis of an understanding on the monolith either, except it was probably dangerous to inhumans... considering they mounted an invasion to secure it out of SHIELD’s hands. She wanted to open the door, to which Mack shut her down faster than lightning. She didn’t even have a chance to start studying it before it sucked her in.
Basically, the only people who I think would know anything about that Monolith are dead. And we can only hope that someone wrote down some helpful information somewhere at some point.
If/when Jemma comes back, I feel like her and Mack will have a mutual understanding of a big thing Henry Simmons pointed out all of SDCC: Mack is going to be very weary of inhumans, and I feel that after Jemma comes out, she’ll either try to destroy the monolith, or blame the inhumans existing for the fact she got sucked into it.
I’m gonna flip the conversation here away from fixing the fish oil problem and drop some theory about Jemma here:
I also would like to point out my earlier theory that Lash comes out of the monolith with/after/before Jemma does, and that the monolith is like a prison for inhumans to try and trap them all (think of sticky paper and flies, or those little bug houses you stick in a corner when you have roaches or ants, when it’s filled, you destroy it/throw it away and put up a new one.)
Imagine if Jemma was trapped in there with a bunch of other inhumans from a course of many years? Imagine if that would necessarily change her outlook on them? Maybe this whole answer becomes rubbish if she is changed by spending time with the other trapped inhumans in the monolith?
This of course, has to first mean that the monolith is a prison.
I hope this makes sense. My brain just moves too fast sometimes.
