Hello I'm LaZodiac, or Aya McHugh, author of the modern fantasy action/romance (with a bit of horror~) novel Initial Sparks, the first in its series!

I also haven't had a job in a year, have only recently covered to functionality post surgeries, and need the good word to be spread around about my work!

Rei Scios had a normal life. She played video games, coasted through school, hung out with friends and did her best to avoid bullies, all while trying to find some girl or guy to love. But after a chance encounter with an injured run-away with a dark past, she discovered a spark of flame within her; she was a pyromancer, and her world would never be the same.

It's been a month since her 18th birthday, and a lot has happened since then. She's out of the hospital now, and her friends are alright, which is a relief. She's got Chloe- once her childhood friend, previously her personal bully, and now her loving girlfriend, and that's something she still can't get over happening.

She's also killed a man. Kestrel, the target of a would-be crush turned sour when it turned out he was targeting her. He's left a weight on her heart, and a disabling injury on her right hand, and she's not sure which is worse.

But she'll make it through. She's got her friends in her corner, and she still feels that heat in her chest. Rei Scios had a normal life... but a part of her likes this one better.

Initial Sparks (Cursed World Book 1)

In a small town far to the north, a young girl wakes up…

A more detailed description of the book is below;

Initial Sparks is a novel about Rei Scios, a girl who lives in the far north with her mother. She lives a relatively normal life, hanging out with her best friend Verde, dealing with a fixated school bully named Chloe, and generally doing her best to make her way through life. Things change when two transfer students; the beautiful and refined Ella and the handsome, mysterious Kestrel come to school. Ella soon becomes a friend, but Kestrel digs his way into Rei's heart right at a glance.

But when Ella offers to give a love fortune through palm reading, things start to... change. Rei is sure, when Ella's finger touched her palm, a spark of flame appeared. Driven by this, Rei and friends go to check out an old, abandoned building in town, the site of a large fire- said to be caused by supernatural means.

What follows is the adventures of Rei and her friends as they discover that the supernatural is far, far realer than they expected- with Rei awakening a natural affinity for flame. She is a pyromancer, and now she's got to worry about burning everything down, on top of typical school stress. Will she get the guy(or girl)? Will she find out why Chloe hates her so much? Will she even reach her birthday alive? Read on to find out!
