Ink Fading and the type of ink used by an artist is probably more important than you realize. The experienced artists already know how important the ink they use is. The old saying you get what you pay for is as true with this as ever with ink. A new artist or a carefree artist that tries to cheap out on ink will save a few bucks and their tattoo looks just as great as anyone`s when its being applied to skin but after only a few days the tattoo begins fading. Within a few weeks the entire tattoo could be up to 25% faded. Within a year it can be up to 50% faded. It can look like you have had a session or two of laser surgery; when you haven’t. Which will also mean most cover up tattoo artists won`t want to touch you thinking you may have had laser already. You can try telling an artist you haven’t had laser and some may believe you and ink you but you may need to go into a few shops to find that artist that will ink you. We all know every tattoo is going to fad with time; but good ink and less direct sunlight for prolonged periods will also help significantly with how a tattoo fades. N.
