#Inktober Day 9: The Chinese Ink Monkey

The ink monkey is a tiny Chinese cryptid whose existence has never been fully confirmed, though there was a brief report in 1996 that it had been found. Supposedly they were trained by scholars to grind ink, turn pages, and fetch brushes. They also had an affinity for eating ink, as you see here.

I'M GETTING PUBLISHED!

My poem "America" is going to be published in the next issue of Ink Monkey Magazine. I've had pieces rejected by all kinds of different magazines at least six or seven times, so this is kind of exciting.

I kind of feel weird about a poem being the first thing I get published, seeing as I definitely consider myself a prose writer, but I guess that's what happens when you start imitating Allen Ginsberg.

different people have done my tattoos.. my spiderman was done by anthony at in the skin in pasadena.. my chin/neck was done by my oly at my friends shop in hesperia.. all my stars & sinner tatt were done by nobu at my friends shop black talon in arcadia.. my broken heart was done at a shop in venice.. and my newest piece was a quote done by my boy jason at ink monkey tattoo in venice.. (wasnt done too well)
