Kotallo and Zo being best friends who want to open their respective businesses but realize they can only afford one space if they share it so they open a quirky flower/tattoo shop combo and find themselves falling for the cute mechanics who work at the shop across the street from them.

“Welcome to Ink & Stem, be with you in just a sec.”

It’s a slow Wednesday afternoon and Kotallo’s been going over the books for the shop the last hour, trying to figure out why the math isn’t adding up and what half of the stuff written in the margins is. For as brilliant an artist as Zo is, her penmanship has improved much when it comes to making notes on what expenses are what and she’s with a client for the next twenty minutes leaving him with no answers. Grumbling to himself and finally tossing the ledger back under the counter into the mess of paperwork, he looks up and freezes.

“Um, hi? You work here right?”

It’s the redhead from the mechanic shop across the street. The one he bumped into when he went out for coffee three weeks ago and accidentally spilled a chai latte on. The one who made his brain short circuit for a minute, hence the latte spill. And now he’s dealing with the same problem all over again, nodding an answer to her question.

Kotallo, practically growling under his breath and glaring daggers at her: go away or I’ll tell dad about having to pick you up after you tried to start a bar fight last month

Makarra, leaving but still mocking: fine, I can still laugh at your sorry ass without being here
