If there’s anything I took from this, it’s that a man’ll do it, every time. This ain’t the first time, it won’t be the last.
Black writers, make sure you pay attention to who openly admitted that they can overlook those comments because they “don’t affect them.” Pay attention to those that were more concerned about your writing than your feelings about situations that affect your daily life. Pay attention to the BW that are “sticking beside their MaYuN” and are making excuses for him to justify their continued support.
I hope you’re all having a better day today, from those that weren’t shocked, to those that were genuinely thrown. Don’t feel bad for feeling your feelings. You aren’t dramatic for wanting to distance yourself from him and this. You aren’t wrong for being upset.
A lot of y’all stood on business and you should be nothing but pleased with yourself. If you can’t write for him, don’t. If you don’t wanna be on tumblr? Don’t. If you don’t wanna talk about it or him, don’t. 🖤 But take it easy and give yourself grace. Looking forward to all of your new creations going forward. I’ll be reading and sharing them all.
