Finally remastered all of the InkwellTale character ref sheets, as well as revamped all of the characters' designs!

Super proud of how these turned out! I love being actually somewhat decent at art :))

⚙ - Dr. Walter Kahl, along with his rodent colleague, mainly just spends his time in his laboratory tinkering with electronics, and sometimes even researching the mysterious ghouls that have been spotted in the dark depths of The Inkwell Underground ever since everyone had first evacuated down there. People really only perceive Dr. Kahl as simply just a nutjob, but both him and Werner are certain that they will make history with their work.

🐀 - Werner Werman considers himself to be the more serious of the duo, but that's really only due to the fact that Dr. Kahl shows a lot more emotions than him. Werner Werman takes his work very seriously, stopping at nothing to get things done.

While Werner Werman may appear cold and uncaring on the surface, he does have a soft spot hidden underneath the rough exterior, only really being shown towards Dr. Kahl and his robot cat that he made himself [with Dr. Kahl helping out with the cat's autopilot mode]

🏵 - After 8 years of living in The Inkwell Underground and losing all hope in ever returning to the surface, the last thing any residents were expecting was for a new face to appear seemingly out of nowhere.

Cagney Carnation is a curious flower to be sure. And while he may seem like a clueless and oblivious fellow to those who only get a glance at him, let's be clear, he's very much not, and he can - and will - make that very clear.

🔥 - Very little is known about Cagney's alter ego, not even its name [Carnation/Carnie is just a nickname I gave him to make things easier for me lol]. All that is known is that it can't speak [can only growl, laugh, and make other similar noises] and that he behaves similarly to a wild animal, only really acting on its impulses.

It seems that not even Cagney himself is fully aware of this alter of his, as when anyone mentions anything about him acting differently, he'll appear to not have any idea what you're talking about.

In this blog, we believe in Maggie Mugsy supremacy.

🍺 - Out of all the residents of The Inkwell Underground, Maggie is one of the most 'regular'. She spends most of her time at home taking care of her grandpa, Elder Kettle, or walking around town trying to find where her brother has wandered off to this time. Though she does also visit the local library or pub and diner every once in a while.

Maggie seems to be the only resident of The Inkwell Underground who still has some hope that everyone will be able to return to the surface once again, despite being told for years on end that the surface was a complete lost cause.

All they need is a sign. Just something.

🥤 - Cuphead is talked about quite a lot in The Inkwell Underground by those who live there. Ever since he ran off into the dark depths of the underground haven about 2 years after everyone first evacuated down there, he's been a mystery.

He's always seen either wandering around townsquare or getting something to eat at the local pub and diner, all while just staring off into space, no one ever knowing what's going through the mind of his.

😼 - If it weren't for the wires coming out of Katzenwagen's severed right ear or its loose face plate that tends to fall off quite a bit, it wouldn't be a surprise if you thought Katzenwagen was a real cat. Dr. Kahl's ability to make extremely convincing autopilot modes for robots never seizes to amaze people.

🤖 - After the first version of the Automaton robot ended up.... "malfunctioning".... Dr. Kahl, along with the help of Werner Werman, made this second version. Automaton 2.0 is way less obedient than the first version of the robot, behaving more like a rebellious teenager than anything. Though they kill it on the dance floor, he's not known for much else in the eyes of her creators.

👻 - The Blind Specter is barely ever seen by the residents of The Inkwell Underground, most people not even believing they're even real. They're mainly only seen hanging out in the defunct train station across from the townsquare, along with the other workers on The Phantom Express.

Out of all the other workers on The Phantom Express, The Blind Specter is the only one who actually leaves the train station from time to time.

Their explorations of The Inkwell Underground have led to them meeting a few people such as Sally Stageplay and her husband, Victor, Captain Brineybeard, Canteen Hughes, and their most recent new acquaintance, Cagney Carnation [who Specter seems to take quite the liking to]
