Both of my brothers had studied Gattaca for school as well, so I could basically quote it by the time I had to study it for High School as well.

I had a friend who liked it, and my mother liked it, so I'd seen it a lot in my life, and I'd found fanfic for it because I was at a point that if I saw or read anything I went to find fic for it.

I don't particularly like the film but I was so happy to study it, honestly.

Mostly because the two films I'd studied in the previous year's English class were both Australian films dealing with the sexual assault and murder of teen girls, one of them based on a true story.

Gattaca, with all the problems I had with it was a relief compared to that.
