Making love to myself

How come I never noticed

the beauty that I've been searching for all along

was engraved right here.

The long stretch marks on my arms,

The little black spots running all over my skin,

The uneven breasts which have been hanging low over my ribs all time,

and

The skin near my inner thighs.

All these just hit hard

at this very moment.

The honey-sweet flow down my thighs

and the roughness in my voice in the early hours of the day,

It's all just so intimating.

How come I never noticed

the beauty that I've been searching for all along
