at last . . . cuatro islas!
last holy week, i spend the break in leyte but i failed to include these sites in my itirenary, luckily, here it is . . .
Cuatro Islas is a group of islands located in Western Leyte. While the Philippines, being an archipelago, has thousands of islands, some of them remain pure and undeveloped, retaining their natural beauty. And despite the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, Cuatro Islas remains unfazed. (www.tripzilla.ph)
As the name suggests, Cuatro Islas has four islands - Digyo, Mahaba, Apid, and Himokilan. Each island has unique offerings to visitors. It can be visited in one day and the jump-off in Inopacan is very accessible.
despite some negative blogs on these spot, one can enjoy the visit, make sure you’re in group and in right weather!
himokilan island
It is included in the island hopping but belongs to another municipality outside of Inopacan where the other three islands are part of. It has white sand, cerulean waters, and an idyllic background, ideal for relaxing and unwinding.(www.philippinebeaches.org)
nearest island in the mainland, very inviting since it look likes a hat, another version of sumbrero island
mahaba island
It has everything you are looking for in a beach destination — fine white sand that fits snugly between your toes, crystalline waters with a colorful and thriving underwater ecosystem, and a rugged beachscape. This is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and forget the stress of city life. (www.philippinebeaches.org)
a quick stop over, ideal for photo shoots . . .
digyo island
he island may be small in size, but it more than makes up for it with beauty. It has powdery white sand and waters that are crystal clear blue. It is also a good place to camp if you plan to spend the night on one of the islands. There are sandbars jutting from the island’s north and south end for those who want to have a place for themselves. (www.philippinebeaches.org)
the island is ideal for long stay.
apid (apit) island
The island has white sand and turquoise waters that will entice visitors to swim. The waters are also glass-like, allowing visitors to see several meters beneath it. There is also a small village on the island, adding to its idyllic charm. (www.philippinebeaches.org)
i was not able to step in the island but it is the most inhabited one . . .
achieved . . . at last!

MY TRAVEL TO LEYTE TO EXPLORE CUATRO ISLAS, KALANGGAMAN ISLAND, SAN JUANICO BRIDGE & TACLOBAN
MY TRAVEL TO LEYTE TO EXPLORE CUATRO ISLAS, KALANGGAMAN ISLAND, SAN JUANICO BRIDGE & TACLOBAN
Five years after the devastating super typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda hit the Philippines, I finally got to visit Leyte where it made landfall. I went to Leyte on October 19 to 23, 2018 with fellow backpackers. And I must tell you that Leyte is a beautiful province with so much to offer.
Everyone I spoke to had a story to tell about…

Digyo Island: A Sandy Pocket of Paradise
Digyo Island: A Sandy Pocket of Paradise
One of the nice things about traveling is that when you least expect it, there’s always a silver lining that shines through the clouds. That has happened to us before in Roxas City where we were stranded prior to our epic Mt. Guiting-guiting climb. During this pre-summer trip, it happened again, albeit in a different way! What followed a disappointing Cuatro Islas island hopping tour was an…

Cuatro Islas: A Disappointing Island Hopping Adventure
