Sasuke paused when he suddenly started to hear odd noises. He was familiar with these woods--the trees, the animals, and every noise that it should be making. The natural, calm state of things out here was well-known to him. Anything out of place became obvious when you spent so much time in one spot. Sasuke didn’t really mean to stay for so long, but he was enjoying the peace away form his ANBU duties. Plus, this leave of absence was approved by the hokage himself.
This place was not often traversed, and Sasuke knew these sounds. They were clangs, grunts, and cries of battle. He rushed toward the noises stealthily. Hiding behind a tree and concealing his chakra, he saw a woman defending herself amongst a band of bandits. He eyed the people up. They looked unfamiliar, perhaps a band just travelling through. He didn’t like the idea of them attacking a lone traveler. Without thinking too much, he jumped in to aid.
He chose to forgo sword use and simply aid in the processes of fending the group off rather than killing them. He used a fireball technique, tossed out a few shuriken aimed to cut vital tendons and ligaments. He buried a kunai deep into a thigh. He channeled his chidori through the earth and struck a wide perimeter of people around him. The group began dispersing rapidly and fleeing. He turned to face the woman he was helping and cocked his head slightly, a curious expression on his face.
“I’ve never seen jutsu like yours before,” he admitted. “Where do you come from?”
