// In Inquisitor verse, Aylen can never quite get used to how big the room in the tower is. When they finish the first Skyhold repairs and they give her this big room all for herself, she doesn’t know what to do with it.
The bed is like five times too big for her, and the first several nights she just lies in it all sprawled, but her limbs still don’t reach the edges of the bed and she finds that ridiculous. The ceiling is so tall. It’s so quiet because it’s so high up she can’t hear other people from there at night. She’s used to sharing tents with others, sleeping with her siblings all piled up on her, or out in the open with the starts above her head and the sounds of the forest around her.
She could have people bringing up a bath or food or anything she wanted to that room if she asked. But she never really does.
It’s excessive for her. It’s too spacious, too tidy, too quiet, too lonely.
At first it feels like so much, that for a few weeks the advisors find her sleeping in other random places instead. ‘Where’s the Inquisitor?’ they wonder when they don’t find her in her room in the morning. They eventually find her camping in the gardens, or coming to the war room with her hair full of hay after she spent it sleeping in the stables next to her hart instead.
