Wow, thanks! After Garrett, Wil is the OC I’ve thought about the most, so I hope I can give some good answers.
Pine: What is something your character wishes they could move on from?
Wil didn’t have much of a problem with moving on while he was growing up. He had a happy childhood and got along well with his parents and siblings, and doesn’t harbor any ill will towards former romances. His first real heartbreak came when Corypheus made him doubt the Chant just before destroying Haven. Wil had never given his faith a second thought, and suddenly, none of it seemed real. He hasn’t gotten over it, and he sometimes wishes things were still simple.
Rosemary: What is something your character will always remember?
Aside from the Inquisition, Wil will always remember the sunny spot in the Trevelyan Estate study. He would curl up with a book (and occasionally Honey, the family cat) and read for hours. Knowing his intent to become a scholar, his parents discouraged his siblings from disrupting his studies, but sometimes he was just napping.
Umbrella sage: Where does your character consider home?
Ostwick is always “back home,” but Wil has no intention of returning. For a time, Skyhold was home, but now, it’s any place he can find a moment’s peace with Cassandra.
Yarrow: What would your character go to war over?
On a personal level, Wil values knowledge, kindness, and peace, and he’d rather not start any wars. But he’s not going to roll over when provoked. When his people are threatened, he’ll respond.
Xanthoriza: What’s something your character has run away from?
Responsibilities! In the past, Wil was more than happy to use his studies as an excuse to avoid the duties that his siblings had to fulfill. As the baby of the family, he had no trouble getting away with this. He wasn’t exactly shy, but he never cared for formal dinners, political dealings, or fancy parties. Too stuffy, fake, and pointless. Having the strongest ties to the Chantry within his immediate family, the Conclave was the first event he couldn’t get out of.
