Lately I've been reading almost all Supercorp fanfic. But I knew I still had some SwanQueen fics I was curious about. I read this one first

Just read one of my first fics in such a long time & it was incredible! This one is going to stick with me for a long time. (Completed fic, 6 chapters)

Emma almost has everything. She's got a wonderful son, a beautiful, tender friend and co-parent, and a family she can count on. It was all she ever dreamed of, once upon a time. At times, she thinks she finally understands what authors mean when they end their story with: they lived happily ever after.
But the feeling always leaves her by the morning. Sometimes she thinks her real happy ending has disappeared somewhere in the past, somewhere in between the curses and forgotten memories. And now it is only a possibility lost to her memories.
If she could go back...
(or in other words, season 6 emma goes back in time and accidentally makes season 1 regina fall in love with her.)

Ok so I found another one of THOSE fics... you know the ones... where you get a few chapters in and say to yourself "Why do I bother writing? I could never do this."
I mean, this is a non-canon AU with no curse and no magic, but it's got one magic component to it that. Is. Never. Explained. AND IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER. It's so well written and the oddity is so endemic to the story you just roll with it.
Anyway, fic rec.
Everything in this is pretty much perfect. The plot, the characterizations, the settings, the descriptive writing with unique and gorgeous turns of phrase... everything you expect from an @insanetwin story.
AND OH MY GOD THE ANGST
It's 100% worth your time, only 6 chapters, and just under 75k. Started in 2016 and just finished last Oct 2020.
Enjoy,

I have been waiting 3 YEARS for the final chapter of this fic to be released. Yes- it IS that good. Now would be a great time to catch up because I’ve been told that the final chapter will be posted very soon… 🥺
You are a very good writer so I just have to ask what you consider good writing? If I read something, I know if it is good or bad but I cannot really tell why it is good.
I love this question! I think honestly it depends on the reader — with what connects with them personally, emotionally, spiritually and sometimes geographically, but to me what makes me feel emotionally or personally connected to someone’s writing is whether they have a good sense of place. Is the setting very clear in their mind, is that moment in time physically so real in the writing that you can close your eyes and imagine it? Sensory details are important in this aspect: what does it look like, smell like, feel like, etc
But it’s more than just that of course. It’s more than just the physical descriptions of what you can see or smell or taste — it has to do with the quiet. Silence is important to me. We live life through moments of silence and noise, and just as it’s important to capture the loud, exciting, clamoring moments, it’s important to capture the quiet. How are the characters interacting, both together and alone. How do they absorb emotional moments. What do they do in the silence?
Absolutely love this question thanks for asking it!
