It’s a pain, overhearing rumors that, due to his facial scars and spiky black hair and his merciless shikai, he’s somehow a long-lost relation of Captain Zaraki. How do people even have the time to come up with such trivial and groundless gossip? In fact, it’s such a pain that he’s just finished relating the ridiculous claim to the man himself over a bottle of sake.

    “Why me?” he groans in summary, slumping into a dramatic face-dive against the wooden tabletop. “I feel I ought to apologize to you for it, Zaraki-taichou. People just… like to talk.” Gods know Shuuhei’s been the topic of many a rumor over the years, half of which are… partially true.

She had forgotten all about not mentioning this little surprise she had but then again in the excitement of actually feeling proof that it existed, she needed to share that with him. 

And why not?

She considered him someone very close to her. As close as a brother even, so in that regard it wasn’t even strange or weird to her. The zeal of it all had also gotten the better of her. 

“Woops. I forgot to tell you huh?” Sheepishly rubbing the back of her neck, though a part of her thought he may have had his own suspicions. “But I’m guessing you may have suspected something was up when I was being very difficult the other day.”
