From a 1950s radio show: Dantro the Planet Man fights to escape the insect men of the graveyard planet, with Rura’s Mardi fleet and crusty engineer Slats. This concludes an arc beginning around episode 57-58. (For me this post plays on a PC but not a phone, but the file always plays from the source.)
Aliens on a dying world have been trapping and scavenging passing ships while enslaving their crews -- every old trope was new at one time. This still would make a good plot for a sci-fi game, though Gygax already used insect men enslaving humans in a fantasy scenario.
Today I scribbled some ideas for insectine bad guys, since the comic project I'm working on has one in it. I like these better than the guy in the book, but I definitely don't have the time to change it up for the pages I did already. Maybe in a sequel we'll see more of these.
