Hollow Knight: Insectarium

As a way to show thanks to everyone who’s been liking my Hollow Knight posts (and just my art in general) here are my (wip) redesigns for The White Lady and Pale King !

Finished!!

I had a really hard time finding my footing with Moons design, mainly the colours since i’m more used to the warmer colours of Sun but yeah!! That’s him!! Look at the little fella!!

I created a side by side image of the two, mainly for design comparison but also because their eye placements were too perfect also now they get to stand next to each other!! hehe

Bit of characterisation: I think Moon is just veeeryy sleepy and while Sunmoths always looking for light, Moonmoth avoids it. Always. It’s just too bright for em,, his little eyes are too sensitive

I have a good few doodles of Moonmoth and one of Sunmoth that i’ll post soon! I also had an idea for an eclipse design, that being of a spider but I wouldn’t be sure as how it would fit into my AU… Anyways!!! Enjoy! WOO MOTHHSHSHS

Snaphorn and Meira: First Meeting

‘A vessel had made its way towards The Archive. She picked her blade from its stand.

Hornet had warned her of the vessels escape attempts from the Abyss. None had made it so close to the archive before. A sigh, her nerves frayed, she gripped the blade tighter.

The vessel approached, closing in on the place she called home. Where her mother resided…

‘Don’t come any closer, vessel’ She yelled, readying her weapon.’

I spent way too long on the background to not show the full thing :>

This was mostly background practice (cause I really needed it) but also a chance for me to draw two of Insectarium’s characters!

I did it!! I made a design i like yippee!!

This is Sunmoth!! Just Sundrop as a silly little moth, i’ve named this the insectarium au and while i’d love to give you lore i actually can’t since i have nothing planned- hah sorry

I can say tho that there are two versions of this AU:

One where Sun and Moon are just small moth creatures and get to be silly while the second involves more humanoid desgins! Those guys get to be tall, VERY tall…Which is why I made Y/N an ant because…small!! Those designs can come later and as for right now i’ll try and work on an interesting Moonmoth design! Uh,, wish me luck!! Enjoy the moths my insect loving mutuals!!

sneek peak on a pride thingy i’m working on!

I won’t have wifi soon and i’ll be gone for,, a few days roughly. So i’ll have this done when i get back ehhehe >:]

Also side note, I wondering to myself why I haven’t drawn our little celestial moths in a while and well… I figured it out!! Their silly patterns drove me crazy while drawing this, I had to come up with the tail wings on the spot pdftftd, turned out fine but it’s a hassle to colour.

Good thing Moondrop’s is covered, although I do think they have a very pretty design!

okay we’re getting somewhere! Second attempt at designing moonmoth and i’m alright with it so far. Half thinking of removing the arm fluff tho to allow for sharper hands but we’ll see-
