The former female trainees in Wishbone Records would soon be clearing out their lockers and departing to their new company. One would presume that not seeing her every day would come as a welcome relief for the Dandelion member. That she could stop the melancholy tunes blaring in her ears ㅡ all of which ended up being about her once again. After so many years apart, the assumption should have been that both of them moved past it. Even managing to speak to her for more than two seconds at a time was a feat in itself.
Perhaps too much time passed to pinpoint exactly what changed and when but she’s cognizant enough to realize, lately, it’s been even worse. But her overly curious mind was prone to over-thinking, victim to a buzzing only she could hear.
Eventually, Chorong knew she would have to reconcile her differences with those she undoubtedly wronged ㅡ falling under the expectations of what any person should reasonably do when wracked with guilt. However, she was not one well-versed in the art of confrontation. Facing something like this head-on once more ( by choice ) was not a move someone without any modicum of preparation should do. Surely she would end up a pile of limbs on the floor, crumpled over herself if she went through with it.
The air is notably cold and frigid that day. Chorong can see the pale tufts drifting from her own lips with each word ㅡ even buried in her thick scarf. She played the waiting game in spite of being a girl brimming with impatience. Her arms are brimming with a bouquet of hyacinths and peruvian lillies. ( The florist told her the latter were the best for apologies. )
The moment her target stepped out of the building, she outstretched the bouquet and small box of sour candy in her arms and folded herself in a deep bow.
“Congratulations on everything, Suji!” She did not lift her head to make eye contact with Suji, keeping bowed until she could feel the gifts being taken from her hands. And she prayed that the burden would be lifted.
