Architecture Corner - Zaha Hadid

Love it or hate it, we see the rise of another futuristic, almost alien-like building by Zaha Hadid Architects for the Business Bay in Dubai. The Opus, which takes the form of an "eroded cube" with a free form opening in the middle that almost seems like it was an eroded form, enforces an organic core in the otherwise structural building.

Art - Mounira Al Solh

All Mother Tongues are Difficult, a solo exhibition by Lebanese artist Mounira Al Solh just opened last Thursday at Sfeir-Semier Gallery in Beirut. The show builds on the concept of language as a tool to examine transition and transmission between the mother tongue and languages of immigration, focusing on Lebanon and the current situation in Syria. 

Show runs April 3 - July 19 2014.
