This is the part where we all worry that I’m actually a hoarder. However, I assure you that cardboard makes a great texture tool/mark maker. My anxiety-producing studio... my son and I brought down more stuff from the space formerly known as my studio to the new space and now I am about to begin conquering the stuff. We are switching so many spaces around in our house that if I don’t take it in small chunks, the overwhelm will become paralysis. So, I have drawn the curtains on the doors, will start a movie and do my best to find places for everything. After taking a few days to repot plants and *gasp* actually make some art, I’m back to the gigantic project at hand. After my art stuff gets settled, I will move over my sewing things. Then, we will prepare my son’s new bedroom in my old studio. After that, we get his old room ready for the girls. Then, I move my sewing things into the too-small for 2 growing girls room. My husband is already working in his new office space and despite it still not being 100% ideal, it’s better than being right next to our daily chaos. We looked for other houses, but nothing fit our criteria. So, instead of moving, we’re moving almost everything around. We really love this house anyway and now there are no closing dates or pressure to sell. My art desk before it gets too messy. I hold it from the attic to the second floor on my own because it isn’t too heavy, but the stairs are awkward and steep. So, I kept thinking “am I being stupid? “My son helped me bring it the rest of the way down and it was very exciting to get it in place and filled. It will be a while before I have everything in place, but my husband and 2/3 kids have remarked that it’s really nice in here. If it’s that way with random boxes still cluttering it up, I look forward to my best studio space ever.
