They were standing upon a bridge, rain pouring down all around them. How did it come to this point? It began so well, laughs, giggles, the hugs, the kisses... The innocence of it all. He remembered where it'd gone wrong. A fight over the Crownguard. That fight... that argument sparked a string of tasteless, bitter quarrels that were of no point. But the damage had been done. The clockwork girl stood hand in hand with the boy-nexus, looking over the bay solemnly for the last time. Without a word, they knew this was the ending. The lull of the dock workers and the fishermen merely blended into the background, neither of the two paying any attention to it. The nexus gazed at his partner with sorrowful eyes, then he turned away, before he would lose himself in those eyes... those luring eyes... With a simple kiss on the cheek, as if a final farewell, the clockwork lady left the boy on the bridge silently, not a look back, even as he reached for her longingly... The dream faded, Blue waking up in a sweat, breathing with panic at the event. Just a dream, just a dream, he repeated to himself as he lay with his eyes open. She left already... a year ago. Tears streamed down his face as he curled up, trying to sleep once more.
