A Secret That Bites || Damon and Allison
It happened too quick to respond -- even too quickly for a vampire to react. The gun had went off and the assailant had disappeared. Damon whipped his head around and his icy hues landed on Allison's limp body lying on the sidewalk.
The raven ran to her side, sliding his arms effortlessly under her petite frame and pulling her close. As he did so, something hot and sticky coated his hands -- her blood. "Allison," Damon whispered, " -- shh, shh, shh. You'll be all right." The bullet had passed all the way through her abdomen exiting through her back.
Dark brows furrowed in indecision. He knew she wouldn't last until the paramedics arrived, hell, she was already living on borrowed time. He had to heal her. Crystal hues turned to ruby as the dark veins grew under his eyes. Damon bit his wrist and pressed his bloody wrist to Allison's mouth. "Drink," he coaxed the girl. " -- it'll be okay."
"Put your arm around me, i'll help you walk."

Damon’s dark brows furrowed as he pulled the stake from his chest. He grunted and cringed as he felt the piece of sharpened wood scrape across his heart. When it was finally out, he gasped in relief. Hearing Allison’s words, Damon glanced up at her. “I’ll be fine,” he spoke through gritted teeth as he pulled himself up off of the floor.ii
