Insley Smullen is a poet and photographer residing in San Francisco, California.
Possessed of an intense interest in nature and storytelling since childhood, Insley’s work focuses on the natural world and the interactions between the humans and animals within it. Shooting primarily with a Mamiya C220 and black and white film, Insley aims to explore and thoughtfully play with the tension between natural spectrums: life and death, growth and decay, animal and man, with a focus on the vulnerability that connects us all.
