I think my favourite muse of yours is Joshua because he's one I know the most and also one of the reasons we got to connect, plus I think it's always so lovely to see when you and Sera ship something so intensely

But I think overall my favourite muses of yours are the ones you love so much, the ones you get invested it. Because it's so hard to see the love you put into a muse and not fall in love with them too

By the founder she had missed him. She’d spent so many months by Clive’s side feeling as if they were chasing an apparition. It was always the same hooded figure beckoning you forward only to disappear when you rounded the corner or lurking in your peripheral, never to be seen head on. But to have this moment with him now? It made those months of uncertainty and second-guessing themselves worth it. 

Things were quiet in the Hideaway now that the sun had dipped below the horizon. There was no pounding of Blackthorne’s mallet. The children had been ushered to bed. Even the volume of the Orchestrion had been lowered til it was little more than ambient noise in the background, barely detectable lest you stopped to focus. 

The pair stared out over the water as Jill leaned forward, propping her arms against the wooden railing of the main deck. When she’d first spotted Joshua out here while headed back to her room, she’d thought to check in and see how he fared after a long day of quests across the realm. She hadn’t anticipated they would spend the next hour talking in the very spot where she’d found him illuminated by the glow of the moon. It had been nice, however, to finally have a moment to take a breather and catch up. It felt like old times – back when they were just kids growing up in Rosaria.

The Dominant of ice was caught off guard, however, when he suddenly vocalized that wish. It made her heart swell to hear him say such a thing, as if those years when their trio was torn apart hadn’t existed. Perhaps when this was all done, when they found a way to defeat Ultima…perhaps things could go back to the way they had once been. She’d gladly return to the Duchy in Rosaria to help them rebuild – it wasn’t as if she had anywhere else to call home.

“I….think I am getting there. I am free now, which is something I was unable to say for most of my life. I want peace. I want freedom for the bearers. I think both might be achieved one day if–if…” Well she didn’t really need to put the second half of that thought into words, did she? They both knew what was on the line and had some idea of what barricades they might face to get there.

“But what about you, Joshua? What is it that you want?”
