Initially built in 1958 and designed to house 2000 pupils, the original incarnation of Kingsdale Foundation School would not have won any conceptual design awards. It was clearly created with function rather than style in mind, but following a dramatic wakeup call in 1998, a plan to revitalise and transform the building was put into action.
