I love the black keys like I want to have their musical child , I learned how to play the blues because of them , I learned how to play the harmonica because of them. They're a huge musical influence in my life and If you ever listen to me play, when I start soloing I just get in my groove like Auerbach and just play away I close my eyes and just let instinct take over. That's the difference between metalcore and blues for me. With metalcore I just play one or two chords and open chuggs, there's no feeling , no emotion. You can't just close your eyes and chug away . Blues is the accumulation of everything you've been through and it just flows through my veins and pours onto my guitar. I play the black keys during my band practice because it helps me focus and it warms me up

Inspirational rant?

It's 5:34 am and I don't know what words I'm about to leaking on to this page Most likely deep blue tears from all the pain. Not just mine but everyone's. Because you see, People spend years pouring their blood on the pavement and what's worse is we live in a society where it's poured on our homes for us to drowned in The governments telling us we have no other choice but to be what they want us to be, our parents telling us, we have to be what they need us to be. Everyone expecting you to conform to this unideal perfection that's impossible to embody. Be their kind of success or be a bum on the street. But that's a load of crap. They're all wrong. You can be whatever person you want to be. Don't listen to them unless they say, "You know what screw it all and be who you wanna be. " Don't listen, not for one second. Because they will try to make it to easy, when in reality anything worth having, worth being isn't going to be easy. You get to make the choices in your own life and there will always be more then two options, no matter how hard it is to see all them, they are there. You have to look past expectations, what they think is best, what they pretend is best. Question things, give it deep thought, and do what you believe is going to make you happy. Life isn't about doing what you must to survive it's about living and being human. Do what you want to do, be who you want to be, love when there is love to be felt, be mad when there is anger to shouted across the halls of your school, home, or even just in the streets. Cry when tears fill your eyes and feel when there is feelings to be felt. Fuck having regrets and feeling sorry for yourself. These things will just bring you down and make you unhappy. Live for today and look to tomorrow's answers. Don't fret about the future, you'll be fine. And when worst comes to worst, learn to silence those negative thoughts and let the deepest parts of your soul heal you. You can lie to someone's face, you can lie to your own face in the mirror but you can't lie to your heart. Instead trying following it.

Never say that you cannot do something. Tell yourself that anything can happen. It may be by your own hand or with the help from another. All is possible and no height or feat is too great. Push on. Fight hard. Dig deep and, when life knocks you down, get off your ass, brush yourself off and get back into the game. Life is a fight that is easily conquered by you. Turn the tides on destiny by allowing yourself, your mind, your heart, and your soul to become untainted by the frailties of hardship and obstacles. Always get back up and fight.

Sometimes I don't want to be the best. I have lived my whole life under the motto of "make your best better", which is a great motto to push people to be great. I had a lot of mentors guiding me in my youth, for that I am so grateful. But the constant pressure to always be great, always seeking approval, always knowing that it's not good enough...man, it's so tiring. Sometimes I get genuinely embarrassed by compliments, I truly feel they are not deserved or are forced and false. Sometimes people say "it must be easy for you", but it's not, I try so very hard. And then the other times, when I pour my heart and soul into something for someone and they shrug it off like "it's good, but I've seen you do better" - that sort of stuff is heartbreaking. I have literally lived my whole life feeling that I was never good enough and never going to be good enough, but you gotta keep trying. That was what was used to motivate me to greatness. But you know what? I got tired of trying to live up to others expectations. I should be happy with who I am and be proud of myself. And I have started to be proud of myself. But guess what? By giving myself some slack and doing what I want, I now see the people I love who are actually disappointed in me. And it's so disheartening to see loved ones put you down for doing something you love, just because it's not what they want you to do. Or be. Or act like. And that sucks. It really sucks. But it's life. And it goes to show that no one should have precedence over your life. You need to make you happy and live for you. Because if you don't respect yourself, how can you expect anyone else to? So...yeah it's great to push yourself. It's a good thing to instill in kids, but I feel like we need to pull it back a notch. No one is perfect. And that's the way it should be. Because it makes us unique. We are perfectly imperfect.

So decided to download Dan's inspirational rant as my alarm. At exactly 5:45 A.M. in the middle of my mom talking to me it goes "rise and shine motherfuckers" and she just asks me " is this what you do with your life" and walked away.

So far this school year, I've positively proved my mother wrong in two circumstances. Maybe I'll start to believe in myself.

My mom discouraged me to apply to college in Asia, where I would dissolve to nothing in the competitive atmosphere. I got accepted, making her cry tears of joy for possibly the first time since I was born. 

After 2 years of being denied membership, my mother also told me not to waste my time on trying to get into some honor society at school. She thought it was biased that I never got accepted. I still did, because I knew I would regret it if I didn't. And yes, I got accepted.

Sometimes it's difficult to go against your parents because they spoon feed you their morals and assume you'll sync to them when you grow up. At least that's my weakness because I suck at believing in myself. Anyway, I guess this proves that it is okay to do something against the will of your parents even though you live under their roof, if you truly believe in it.
