The 2018 Summer Air Force Tour is officially in the books. It was my second tour with the USAF. I've brought skateboards, @sharpie's, and art to over 600 kids around the world in military families with these programs. Combined tours, 25 states, 5 countries, and 54 flights. I burnt a hole clear through my @delta Amex card... but most importantly I heard the stories of kids around the world. I met countless amazing people, never said no to local cuisine, and learned more than I ever could have imagined. Thanks to all that have made this dream gig possible and to all my new friends around the world. Thank you to those that serve the US, it's remarkable what you do so that we can live the way we do (nothing's perfect, save the arguments for another post.). I'm heading home. My first glimpse of Alaska in 25 years. My eyelids became uncomfortably heavy with an odd rush of moisture. It occurred to me where the roots of my love of the mountains were born, my childhood memories of awe. This place is special. It's going to be a very heavy week of getting reacquainted with myself as an artist. I haven't felt this intensity wave of inspiration in many, many years. Game on Alaska, let's get weird. It's been a great week touring the libraries of Minnesota and bringing some rad kids skateboards! Visited Chisago Lakes Library, Elk River Library, and Eden Prairie Library. Next up heading up to Aitkin tomorrow, and Cambridge Library, as well as Cedar Riverside Opportunity Center next week.
