  Audrey Hepburn won  Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 1954 Academy Awards for her exceedingly extraordinary performance in Roman Holiday, 1953. Her speech went like this: 

  “It's too much. I want to say thank you to everybody who in these past months and years have helped, guided and given me so much. I'm truly, truly grateful and terribly happy.”

  (I would like to think that she had made a reference to a Roman Holiday line where she said, ‘So happy, Mr. Bradley’, which her last and parting words to Joe Bradley, A.K.A, Gregory Peck)
