Talking about our local Area Health Education Center’s or AHECs in my @zurikenya #justonedress #heyzuri AHEC? but what does that mean? These community based 501(c)3 s are developing career pipelines for the healthcare fields- MD, NP,PA, MSW, LMFC, Dental Hygienists, ETC. I love them because they allow high school students to experience a MASH camp or a summer internship at a clinic where students can learn more about the public health and health care fields. Who wouldn’t want to go to MASH camp?!? AHECs also support medical residents and other allied health students by connecting them with cool rotations in the community and all the loan repayment programs. What did you do today? So much fun.
