Maybe Someday This Gets A Name
It was so quiet…
It should have been loud
The smile was so…forced…
It should have been beaming, proud.
It was so calm, so still
When you should have been tearing at the seams.
So still…too calm…
I couldn’t hear the fading of our dreams.
And I held on, for as long as I might,
And I believed a sun would rise after our night.
Some shifting needed to happen, some growing,
While both pretended to work, and relationship’s legs were bowing.
The discomfort and want for more
Kept me asking, kept me reshaping my core.
Still there was fire, there was heat,
Fights for our together life, with victory and defeat.
And then…it was so calm, so quiet, so still…
Realizing neither of us could pay when came due the bill.
The indifference, did it mean to tell of my failings, that you are just too tired?
Or was it meant to speak of nothing, only how this is no longer desired?
I guess it really doesn’t matter.
Droplets (clear, salty, crimson) all still splatter
It was all so quiet, so calm, and it brings back my curse.
Sitting consulting, assuming and knowing. I am the worst.
