"are you sure you want to do this?" even as he's standing there, ready to risk his life in an admittedly abandoned parking lot, insu doesn't understand why she feels the need to do this. never in her life will she ever really need to it for herself and the request seemed random at best. as her employer, however, and a friend ( he supposes )... there's not much insu can really do but oblige. "did you read any of the material that i sent you beforehand?"

"are you finally going to tell me who you've been sleeping with all this time?" hands firmly gripped to the wheel, insu only takes a glance at her briefly before they float back over the dashboard, taking care in navigating the dark roads despite nobody driving around at this hour. "you reek of cigarettes and booze. i can only guess it's someone far too old for you."

"do you consider what we did the other night to be some sort of... rebound thing? i don't actually know if that landed in the window since you've been separated from your ex for awhile now." that and the fact that, to heather, he was still 'dating' ahra... not that it weighed much on her conscience during the act.

"so is that your normal order?" given his height, she probably missed him come up behind her after she placed her order, insu now waiting for his own to come out after hers. blazing ginger hair, it was hard to assume that it could be anyone other than heather, though there is a bit of relief in knowing this is the first time he's seen her since the original run-in. he assumed it would be more frequent, which admittedly had him feeling a certain way. "i can't exactly pinpoint if you're a creature of habit or if you like to switch things up depending on your mood." did she even have other moods.....?

"i don't know why you keep pestering me about it. is it really that hard to believe? what happened between me and heather?" it was just a one time slip given his usual level of control but for ahra to doubt him? was it purely out of curiosity? to egg him on? "unless you'd like to find out for yourself? it's rare that you're speechless..."

"i still don't see why you had to come with me. i'm not your bodyguard. if someone sees you —" he'd been speaking with ahra the entire way down the sidewalk towards the coffee shop, leading this time instead of lagging like he normally does. words are cut off when they start to make their way inside and a familiar redhead catches his attention and involuntarily, "... heather."

"it... might be." if that brings her any sort of discomfort, he'd easily come up with a reason for it, like how he's just seen this sort of disposition before when picking up others. it's not always drunkards and airport drop-offs; some seem to have that same despondent look on their faces suggesting they just need something better for the moment. hence the snacks. a small smile is thrown towards the backseat via his rear view mirror, relieved that she was able to catch the tiny bout of positivity he provides. "nothing to thank me for. it looks like the car ride home won't be a short one either. enough time to get things off your chest, if you'd like. otherwise, i'm happy to sit in comfortably silence."
