FOR: @neenadunn WHEN: July 24' WHERE: Evren's Place. Shady Grove. Int. Shower.
Yina's plumbing was beyond a disaster. It was utterly fucking useless. Despite paying a steep price for paper-thin walls and rickety pipes, which she had to admit was far better than her last place, something new always seemed to go wrong — every day. That morning, with the sun barely peeking over the horizon, she stepped into the shower only to be met with nothing but dry silence and the agonizing screech of clanging metal. No water. No relief. Just a desperate need for a shower.
She had a full day ahead, with a list of tasks to complete. And the need to always look presentable stemmed from the fact, as slim as it might be, she might one day bump into her family: she never left the house without looking her possible best. Frustration boiling over, she padded across the threadbare carpet to her bed, snatching up her phone. Two options: Eddy or Evren.
Neither was available until evening, leaving Yina to fume all day. Not at them, but the situation she found herself in time and time again. Could she catch a break? Was that allowed? Or was it against the rules? She spent hours in a state of irritation, unable to do anything, her hands itching to get out. As evening approached, she decided to head to Evren's, the closer option.
Finally, washing away the day's grit, yesterday's sins, she felt a sense of relief that had been amiss all day. Slowly, relaxation seeping into her muscles. The need for a shower was a constant in her life, an ingrained ritual from her parents. Now, at last, she felt clean. It wasn't until she was out of the shower, wrapped in a fresh towel of Evren's, that she heard movement out in the hall.
Yina stepped out into the corridor, half expecting to be greeted by her friend, half set on cracking a joke as her lips parted, the smile faltering instantly — instead, she's left with her head reeling back and brows sweeping into a deep V. "I, uh, sorry -- I...hey."
