Cadence had been out running a few errands in the city, so she'd decided to stop in to see her husband at work. He was a busy man. She knew that, so if she was told that he was in a meeting or wasn't available, she would understand. His receptionist had told her that he had some time in his office though, so she continued through, knocked on the heavy door, and pulled it open just enough to poke her head in. Her eyes found Timothy instantly, full lips pulling up into a small smile. "Darling? I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"

Cadence had realized that morning when she'd woken up that this was it. She'd stopped aging. She looked the exact same now at twenty-nine as she had at twenty-eight. It was terrifying to her. She'd never wanted an immortal life, but she was stuck with it unless she married a mortal man. There wasn't much hope for that though. She wasn't exactly the kind to go out and meet many people. That was why she was currently alone on the night of her birthday. It was always like that. The undine was such a shy, skittish thing who was so rarely in the company of or comfortable around others, so most of what she did was solitary. The only time she was really with others was hen she was at work, singing songs from a golden era in the beautiful voice that came along with so many water-dwelling creatures to a crowd of regulars that she knew well by now. Once she'd finished work, she chose to go down to her usual spot. It was a secluded little corner of the beach away from tourists and parties where she could hear the ocean and swim beneath the moonlight the way she loved to do. But when she arrived, she was met with the sight of someone else there in her place. "Oh..." Cadence let out softly, unsure of how to react to the intrusion.

“Yeah, no, I’m good. I'm...I-I'm fine. Can you maybe just, um, pretend you didn't see that?" Cadence could get so clumsy while she was up on land. It was a stark contrast from the elegant look of her and the graceful ease that she had when she was in water.
