WORLD STATE and DEVIL WORM

The parasite that would become known as Devil Worm was first discovered at Pingualuit crater, Quebec, Canada. Samples of the parasite were collected and brought to a lab in Quebec City for study. Somehow, the parasite breached containment, spreading beyond Canada to the United States and then the entire world through the water supply. As the Ridden, created by the parasite outbreak, plunged civilization into chaos, the parasite itself gained the moniker "Devil Worm".

Since it spreads through water supply, it is mandatory for people to boil water before drinking to kill the parasite.

THE RIDDEN

The Ridden were normal humans who contracted the Devil Worm parasite that spread through the entire world. They possess reduced higher brain function, and attack and subsequently infect any uninfected non-immune targets around them on sight.

The Ridden mutated quickly and many disappeared underground, in cavernous hives and nests — more and more dangerous varieties crop up thanks to the mountains of poorly discarded corpses during the outbreak, which became the Ridden's prime charnel breeding grounds.

FORT HOPE — FINLEYVILLE, PA

Fort Hope is a barricaded military fort created and run by General John Phillips. The fort is nestled between the north of Evansburgh and the south of the mining town known as Finleyville and acts as the main base of operation for the Cleaners and many of PA's survivors.

THE CLEANERS

The Cleaners, immune survivors of the Devil Worm apocalypse, are battle-hardened and united to combat the Ridden, striving to reclaim the remnants of the world. About 1% of the population is immune to the Devil Worm.

BODY TYPE.   lean frame, defined body - espec. upper back. HAIR.   red, long, chaotic. EYES.   reddish-pink. SKIN.   tanned, somewhat coarse, w/ occasional thin scars. HEIGHT.   168 cm.

PHYSICAL PROWESS.  relies heavily on long- to mid-range ninjutsu and archery. quite decent at taijutsu, however will avoid it by default as physical energy reserves are required for certain techniques and should not be depleted carelessly. SPEED.   not a fan of unnecessary motions; will begrudgingly dodge if absolutely required. excels at speed bursts, but loses out in matters of consistent, long-term pacing. OTHER.   the fujiwara clan is known for their versatile use of barrier jutsus, putting the focus of their techniques largely on protection and support. hei is well-versed in the clan’s traditions, however favors a tad more aggressive approach to using those clan techniques.

Hey bud! What would a younger Mogar be like?? And younger as in small child.

uh, cute. like, really cute.

I mean, he’s a smol bear child, honestly. He would have had curly and unkempt hair and a lot of scratches from twigs and getting into trouble, and he would try to be all “MOGAR IS STRONG” but honestly, he would be a scared little kid wandering around in the woods. I still want to hold with my bear tribe theory, so I think he’d originate from a group of people living outside of general society, but I suppose he would have wandered away at a young age, or he got lost or something. So, yeah, he’d value strength, and he’d try to be strong – but he’s a kid. He can’t really survive on his own. He’d be trying to hide his fear, but he’d be scared, and anyone would be able to tell.

Post being adopted by a cow, he’d be a much happier kid. He’s obviously a mama’s boy in the present, sweet lil thing that he is, and he’d be like that as a child, too. He’d still do kid things like chase birds for no reason and roll down hills for fun, but I think he’d be very responsible, as well. He’d do his best to take care of his mother, with the help of Kablooie. And I feel like Kablooie would serve a very Kaepora Gaebora role for him, in that whenever he’d wander too far from his mother, Kablooie would give him advice and help him find his way back.

All in all, he’d still be a wild child, but he’d also be very sweet and responsible. And he’d always listen to his mother. Always.
