The bus ride is…bumpy. That’s a good word for it. No doubt the bumps are from the large tires crushing the gravel beneath it as the bus pulls into the station. Your head knocks against the cool glass of the window as the soothing sounds of an acoustic guitar plays in the headphones jammed in your ears. The note with the very neat scrawled handwriting—he’s always had beautiful handwriting—still sits tight in your grip. Your perfectly manicured fingers run over the words on the paper again trying to pull their words from the page to hear them in your mind again.
