Holly had just about had it with small town life. And she had only been in this wretched, poor excuse for a town, for a little over two weeks. She was bored, she was already sick of the calls from her parents wanting a ‘status report’ on her siblings, and the two were not a good combo. While a perfectly happy and contented Holly Hawthorne wasn’t exactly the most patient person one could hope to run into, as crabby as she had been the last few days, she was in a particularly difficult mood as she stood in the fucking single check out line at the fucking single grocery store this town had to offer.
It seemed to be rush hour, if a grocery store could have a rush hour, and the nice old lady at the check out wasn’t quite keeping up with the quickly growing line of customers ready to leave with their purchases. “God! You’d think they’d make sure they had someone working who wasn’t older than dirt when they surely know they’re going to be this busy. Does this fucking town really have to do everything like it’s still in the stone ages?!” she muttered disgustedly, not quite under her breath to whoever was in line with her.
