“now, you can talk and gesture of course but i don’t want you moving from that seat” june directed alex as she sorted out her paints. “if you need a break at any point just let me know. there’s no rush to this. i just thought it would be fun.” being an artist for thirty years meant that she weaved in and out of different styles. there were a couple years where her paintings had been more abstract bodies in space and another where she explored painting the human form using nothing but flowers. right now, she was in the mood for a good old fashioned portrait. she had chosen alex to be her muse this time, her kids had really had enough of it but this point.
finally, she grabbed a large canvas off the ground and gently placed it on the easel. “i appreciate you coming over by the way. i could have used a photo of course but this is better. besides, it gives us a chance to catch up.” @alexanderwarren
