@bokketo | the office is getting a new assistant (aka that one starter i forgot to write literal months ago)
Some help around the office is always appreciated, sure, but it isn't something they're in desperate need of. So when he announces to Foggy and Kirsten that he hired a new intern, they're right to be surprised. Even more so when said intern isn't even a law student at all, and instead a random kid who, up until a few days ago, was mopping the floors at Columbia University, and, technically, doesn't even have a permit to work in the country, so paying him will require jumping through a few legal hoops.
Matt has decided to not mention who Sam really is– it isn't his secret to tell, though he's made it clear to the kid he can trust Foggy and Kirsten the same way he trusts him, but between kid's broken arm and the news reports lately talking about Daredevil running around withba new sidekick, he's sure his friends will be able to figure out on their own in no time.
"Guys, this is Sam Chung," he starts after Sam arrives at the office for his first day. Too late to go back on that idea now, for both of them. "He's the intern I mentioned. Sam, this is my friend, Foggy, and my fiance, Kirsten."
Sam offered them both a smile and shook their hands. "Nice meeting you guys," he says, and he genuinely means it, despite the nervousness that comes with the possibility of more people learning his secret identity. They seem nice, Matt trusts them, and working regular hours in an office all make up a pretty sweet deal, far better than what he's had his whole life so far. It's temporary, he reminds himself. You're only here until your arm heals. Then it's back to mopping floors. "So, uhm, what can I start with?"
