[SHOULDER] - Rachel lays a hand on Lorna's shoulder.

"Hm? What is this?" Lorna asked once someone tapped her shoulder and turn around to see who it was. "Rachel?" she asked surprised. "Oh thank Lord you're here. Please, say you know who I'm".

Rachel managed a chuckle as she said, “I assure you, it’s a bit hard to forget someone entirely once you’ve been in their head.” She didn’t blame Lorna for being warry. After all this city did have a tendency to bring in people from different points in time, universes, and even wipe their memories. “I think the fact that this isn’t my first time hopping from one universe to another may have made me immune to whatever the hell is going on with memories here.”

There was a familiar sense about the person that had just taken the seat to her side at the bus stop. However, unlike most of the others that she’d had so far, she couldn’t place this one. It was like something she had felt before but from a different source, and honestly they didn’t feel they had the mental capacity to go through all those layers to try and pinpoint it. So instead they turned to face the young woman with a smile.

As of now, Lorna seemed to be the only person that only came from same earth as she did, but that also happened to recall most of their shared time together. Rachel knew better than to over-rely on her friend however, and was more or less keeping things to basics. It was nice, actually. Almost as if they’d never left the Boneyard. As she walked into the living room, she announced, “I picked up dinner! I care for you deeply, but I don’t trust you in the kitchen.”

Rachel had made up her mind exceedingly early-on in her stay in this place, that she was not going to be disclosing her parentage to either Jean or Scott -if he happen to arrive as well. Scott wouldn’t necessarily be an issue but Jean...she got her own headstrong personality from someone. It had been far too many times in the past that she had had to deal with the sting of rejection from the redhead and there was no guarantee the same wouldn’t happen here.

Besides, she was far too young and already burdened with the actions of the phoenix in her own world. There was no need to add to any of that. So instead, she kept their interactions casual when they happened to coincide at the Institute, like today. “Hey, glad to see you’re doing alright after everything that happened at the ball.”

If finding Charles had been easy, finding Jean had been like following the world’s brightest beacon. As she watched the woman from afar, Rachel wished she could give the woman the reprieve of not having to process the convoluted nature of their relationship, but being as Rachel was essentially created as the perfect vessel for the Phoenix Force that currently resided in the other...well, it would only be a matter of time before it pulled like a magnet. Especially if they were residing in the same city.

Still, if this Jean didn’t recognize her, Rachel wouldn’t push the matter. Her musings were cut short as she felt a surge of frustration, and knew what was to come. Making her way over to Jean quickly, she was able to catch the object that’d been sent flying and helped play it off in case anyone was watching. “Nice throw. You should consider a career in softball.”

Once she’d caught onto the sense of the Professor’s psychic signature, it wasn’t dificult to follow the trail and find his actual physical location. Rachel waited patiently at the man’s door as he finished up his class. In the brief time she waited, she was able to note that this was definitely not the Charles from her timeline. She wouldn’t even place him in the same universe she’d just left. Regardless, he may be able to shed some light on their current situation.

As the students filed out, she made her way over to the man and introduced herself. “Professor Charles Xavier, I’m Rachel Summers. If you have a moment, I’d appreciate a word.”

Closed Winter Market starter for: Jean Grey

Rachel’s plan with regards to keeping her ‘origins’ to as few people as possible would arguable be a lot easier if she had just kept to her original routine of leaving home for work, and leaving work for home. Coming to this winter thing just left her open to bumping into people, as was the current case as she caught sight of a familiar face. It was obvious she’d been spotted, so she just offered a warm smile and waved. “Hey, enjoying the stalls?”
