Natives of North America
This is the political map of North America that Europeans ignored when creating their borders.
Note: While a fantastic map (you can zoom in and out!), it uses some names that are considered derogatory by the group named. The issue I noticed was the use of “Eskimo” in reference to Canadian and Greenlandic Inuit (or Kalaallit in Greenlandic). Due to the nature of the project I assume whoever contributed the portion on those areas was American and unaware that Eskimo is considered derogatory outside the US.
Note 2: In case anyone’s wondering, the Eskimo in the US don’t consider it to be an offensive term. This is because there are more than one peoples in Alaska, so they use the term when referring to all of them (kind of like how in Canada we use First Nations). :)
