So I found out today (courtesy of the year6 class I'm doing work experience with this week) that my favourite scientific occurrence actually has a word for it! Tautonomous! The word for when the taxonomical name for a organism is the same for both the genus and species!! Like Vulpes vulpes!!

I have this terrible addiction to morbid medical history and gruesome historical journalism. Which is good for me, considering my career path; it's bad for others, considering my powerful urge to constantly bring up disturbing knowledge in every conversation.

My coworkers have admitted on multiple occasions that my interests deeply scar them every time I bring up something unrelated to media and popular culture. When they ask what books I'm currently reading, they are concerned by at least one of them. I think it's my most fascinating interest, but as much as others tend to agree they also do not care for my sharing information about what I've learned.

Watching a video essay on "bisexuality chic," and it got me thinking.

While I am not bisexual myself, I did find that the androgynous/bisexual themes in a lot of alternative music and fashion really helped me grow into myself and realize my identity as a queer trans man. I've never been extremely masc in the way I act or dress, so seeing androgynous and even feminine behaviours and fashion being associated with a very male-dominated scene changed a lot of my perceptions on what it meant to be a man and the more I got into emo/punk/hardcore/gothic music and fashion, the more I learned about myself and started to accept my gender identity. So while I can recognize the problematic themes and misogyny thats often associated popular alternative music, I also feel like I owe something to the artists. I never had a "not like the other girls" phase because I realised I wasn't even a girl or attracted to girls, and that realization definitely came from being attracted to the men in these scenes in a very queer way

Something for me to draw and/or stare at

For those of you confused by the anatomy of this outfit: the second thing in the first column is sort of an overskirt. It's just the white part (the black part is there to show how the overskirt lays), and it goes over the OP dress and under the apron to create a layer in between.

The second thing in the second column (next to the overskirt) is a cage that goes under the dress to create structure. It's like a petticoat, but it's more firm so it prevents the dress from looking deflated and means you have less layers since petticoats fluff a dress up with layers of tulle and crinoline.

The second thing in the third column (next to the cage) is a pair of bloomers, which are basically a pair of long shorts worn under dresses. They're supposed to allow more freedom of movement compared to super layered underskirts.
