So many of us have so many nostalgic recollections of these little things. It's International Literacy Day and I believe that this was the beginning of writing for most of us. My parents who lived in a village had left me at my grandparents' place in MYsooru so that I could get education in a good school. However, they had sent me to a small, humble school in my village for a few months before sending me away to the city, so that I could get a glimpse of how the system worked there (of course, it took a long long time for me to realise that and I am told that I was a troublemaker and cried fake tears every morning to avoid school. Never worked). We, the kids, sat on the floor while teachers taught us Kannada alphabet. What tormented then has now become a joyous experience. Perhaps that's the magic that happens in retrospect. Again, as always, hope that everyone gets to learn how to read and write and that eventually, may true learning lead to a more peaceful world. #internationalliteracyday #beginnings #nostalgia #learning #literacy #read #write #childhood #childhoodmemories #memories #school #education #righttoeducation
