Since yesterday I’m currently in that weird zone where a lot of the online/TV Show things are things I feel like kind of waste my time. I don’t know whether this is the onset of a depressive episode or whether it’s just the realization that a lot of what is online is just chaff.
It doesn’t help that I’m reaching peak cynicism that I think most of these streaming services don’t actually care about the quality of the shows they’re making, because the shows are just the thing they use to funnel money into their advertising/data mining. That the TV shows and movies they make are just the widget they used to build engagement, get new customers, datamine, and market.
It’s not lost on me that these feelings are somewhat cyclical. It might just be in my head.
Already so tired of tomorrow
i keep scrolling even though i'm not even enjoying it. like i’m not even there. just my thumb, just the feed. it's not fun, it's not soothing. it's just happening.
I consume media in a gluttonous way. My screen time is so high it's sinful.
