That dress picture has to be some kind of record for fastest rise of a new internet meme.

they become popular because its coming from the same people that enhanced the am i the only one who does X phrase like yuck
anthropologically it's interesting having a shared visual language that's understood by a generation
but i think that if people spent less time fighting the culture instead of trying to mold it it wouldn't be so shitty
i feel like people who feel such strong immediate distaste for meme faces and modern meme culture aren't doing as much as they should to keep from being overwhelmed in the future
it's like if you want to have a hand at molding modern culture now is the time, much more than it has been ever
so that's the score
either do nothing and mumble and grumble under your breath memes are dumb i hate them or develop your own and engender change you entitled piece of trash
I don't understand how the Ikea Monkey is funny. Can you explain it? I see that it has a little coat, but that just seems really natural and appropriate to me.
It's mildly funny but it's one of those template memes so it's pretty accessible to start making your own.
Like the entertainment value isn't in the monkey in itself but in accessible it is to people to start churning. I think it's cute people are excited about stuff like that.
man what a PARTY ANIMAL
if jokes are going to die anyway
WHY even TRY to restrain using them
that kind of attitude keeps us from reaching new heights of content creation
follow my lead because we are going places
many people deride tumblr's really contrived sense of humor
but only way to stop bad jokes is to change gears and make new jokes
it bugs me when writhe over what they dislike
instead of realizing the influence they exhibit over internet humor
meanwhile:
why do jokes not funny
when it should be:
what a laff
memetic content on whatever medium or website should be encouraged because it fosters creativity. standing in the way because something isn't as funny anymore -- because you were exposed earlier -- ie because you're a pretentious asshole -- doesn't mean people should stop
creative is good
non creative is bad
if you believe otherwise, here's the door
